PFA Young Player of the Year?

PFA Young Player of the Year?

Now a regular in Sir Alex Ferguson`s starting eleven, it seems that the exploits of Danny Welbeck have been recognized by his fellow professionals.

With it being that time of the year again, the nominations have been announced for the PFA Young Player of the Year and Danny finds himself amongst the six nominations and is up against:-

Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea)
Sergio Aguero (City)
Gareth Bale (Tottenham)
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal)
Kyle Walker (Tottenham)

Some stiff competition I think you`ll agree.

Welbeck has had a good step-up season for us and whilst he might have the potential to one day compete with Aguero and Bale for player of the year at his current level I can only see one of them two getting it. For me, young player of the year should be U21's only but if I had to select from that bunch it would be City's Aguero.

That Welbeck made the list shows what a dearth of options there are.
