Faith in Fabio

Although Fabio Da Silva has been ear-marked for a loan spell next season, to give him some much needed, guaranteed first team football, it looks as if the Brazilian does have a long term future at Old Trafford.

Rumours abound in the tabloid press that Fabio`s contract will be extended, a sure sign of faith we reckon!

The lads potential is undeniable, he could become a world class full back. We've seen so much of Rafael and Fabio was deemed to be the better twin. Unfortunately for Fabio he's having to compete with Evra for his prefered LB role and considering Evra's outstanding injury record, fitness levels and ability Fabio is never really going to get the first team experience he needs to displace and surpass Evra. Rafael on the other hand is the only natural RB we've got. If he goes out on loan I would expect us to sign another fullback, preferably in the RB area to give Rafael competition, also because our injury record in defence is likely to leave us shorthanded in defenders.
