Rene Has His Say!

Rene Has His Say!

Don`t you just love this rivalry we have with our noisy-neighbours?

Although we suffered a rare defeat, at the DW Stadium, on Wednesday night, we are still strong favourites to claim a record 20th top flight title, even though, a tone stage, City appeared to be walking away with it.

The fact that we`ve clawed them back, and subsequently overtaken them, gives us a feeling of great pride, although, as has been said many a time before, we`re not counting our chickens before they`ve hatched.

But, whilst we prepare (hopefully) to bask in glory, our first team coach Rene Meulensteen has given the press some superb comments relating to why he perceives Manchester City have stumbled so spectacularly in the final months of the season, commenting about alack of team spirit whilst also having a good dig at Mario Balotelli,

"City do not have a well-balanced team. They only have individuals who play for themselves."

"You can see that City lack the right team spirit."

"There is no chance of Balotelli playing for Manchester United. A player who gets up to the antics he doe has no place at our club."

"I don`t believe that Sir Alex would sign a player like Balotelli. We shouldn`t get in people like him - they only bring frustration."

"United are accustomed to the pressure involved in going for the title."

"City are in a position to win the league for the first time in a long while but that is breaking them up."

"I thought they wouldn`t hold out to the end."

I`m not sure everybody was, when City were romping away with it, as confident as Rene when it comes to that last line. But as for the rest of it, spot on my friend, spot on!

It's not over yet Rene, as the first team coach you shouldn't be planting the thought that it's already won but rather they need to go out and ensure its won before victory talk.
