The Form of Champions

It surely is our title to lose now!

The events of yesterday, with United winning and City capitulating at Arsenal, leave United eight points clear with a mere six games to go.

For City to win the title now, the misfiring noisy neighbours would have to win every one of their games and United would have to lose three out of the last six and considering we`ve only lost three out of the previous thirty-two, that would be a collapse of Devon Loch proportions.

So what made the difference with United racking up a run of wins that has left City un-nerved?

Rio Ferdinand puts it down to experience and talking to the media has commented,

"Experience is hugely important. We`ve been in this position before so that counts for a lot."

"We know what it takes to get over the finishing line first and we`ve got to use that experience and make sure we do it again."

"Even the young-players are putting their two-pence worth in and it`s a team effort, everyone`s contribution counts."

"We didn`t even think about getting back into this position, we never even doubted we could put a run of games together."

"You need to get momentum at this stage of the season, that`s the most important thing."

"By beating Rangers, we`ve picked off another win and hopefully we can keep that going."

Talking of momentum, United have now won eight Premier League games on the bounce since that remarkable 3-3 comeback at Stamford Bridge.

That`s the form of Champions.

Still not won yet we've just got to see the remaining games out. A combination of hunger, experience, squad depth and team unity have won us this title.
