Transfer Speculation?

Today, one leading exponent of the gutter press, has slight links with two players who would see Old Trafford as a potential step-up.

Now whether either interests Manchester United on a serious basis remains to be seen.

First up is Ricky van Wolfswinkel. A striker who plays for Sporting Lisbon and who is twenty-three years of age, he`s hit 14 goals in 20 league games. Reportedly interesting United and Liverpool, the lad has been quoted as saying,

"I see the Prem as a step up."

So would most who ply their trade in the Portuguese League I`d imagine.

Second up is James Rodriguez. A winger who plays for Porto and a player who is interesting (if the reports are correct) United and Bayern Munich, with the lad quoted as remarking,

"I couldn`t reject the chance to play for Manchester united. It would please me."

I`d imagine a move to Old Trafford would please most mate!

Not sure we`ll ever see either of them pull on our famous shirt, how about you?

van Wolfswinkel I can't see happening. Ever since Ruud left we've been getting linked with Dutch strikers like Huntelaar and no doubt in the future we'll be linked with De Jong. Can't see Rodriguez happening either though he seemingly does have the ability, potential and, judging from that quote, the attitude and enthusiasm to play for us though I'm sure Porto have got him tied down to a massive minimum fee release clause that we just can't afford to meet or would be mad to even consider meeting it.
