Last Gasp Heroes!

Just how many times have United rescued a result in the final few minutes of normal time, or stoppage time, in a game?

Numerous!

Too many to mention more like!

Last night was just the same, almost a Groundhog Day syndrome as United carved out a 2-0 victory, at Ewood Park, to move five points clear of Manchester City, prompting Sir Alex Ferguson to remark in hi spot-match media interview,

"The goals came so late, which is typifies the club`s history. Coming when it did, the Valencia goal was very important. If you don`t try to shoot you`ll never find out if you can score. It had great power."

Did I detect a smile on the gaffer`s face?

Looking ahead to the weekend and the fixture against Queens Park Rangers, Sir Alex, like us, sees it as a fixture that could determine the destination of the title, further commenting,

"It is vital that we win that game. We are also helped by having made up the goals deficit on City. I think it was 18 at one time."

The way things are going, courtesy of these City slip-ups, the crunch game at the Etihad Stadium just might become not as important as was originally believed.
