Sir Alex Issues a Warning

Many United supporters will be acutely aware that the fixtures appear to have fallen kindly for us with our next three games against teams that we`d fancy ourselves to beat.

Well that may be the initial thought, however, below the surface there is the lingering suspicion that the next three fixtures might not be as easy as they appear with our next three opponents all scrapping for their Premier League lives at the foot of the table.

Ahead of the trip to Ewood Park, Sir Alex Ferguson has touched on that very subject, commenting,

"You look at the fixtures and Blackburn are fighting for their lives, Queens Park Rangers are fighting for their lives, Wigan are fighting for their lives."

"We saw this the other night with the Fulham game and you know these games are going to be tight."

They probably will but if we can get a win tonight that`ll take us five points clear which would be a very nice position to be in!

But Ewood Park is a notoriously difficult place for United to get a result with the record books showing we`ve only won 2 out of the last 11 fixtures, a record that could be down to the fact that the fixture is classified as a derby, prompting Sir Alex to comment to the media,

"The game at Blackburn has always been a difficult match."

"It is a local derby and tends to be a bit feisty."

Let`s hope the feistiness doesn`t result in anything untoward occurring!

Wigan and QPR shouldn't be taken lightly, especially considering both sides recent form. All it takes is a loss or draw and for City to win and their right back in it. The players have got to avoid complacency and get their heads down and grind out every result giving 100% all the way.
