Owen Nears Full Fitness

And he has a dream

Apparently Michael Owen, after being sidelined since November, is fast approaching full fitness.

Furthermore, looking to earn a new contract, Owen has ambitions of scoring a goal that could propel us to a record busting 20th top flight title win.

Speaking to the tabloid press, Michael is quoted as having remarked when probed about Sir Alex Ferguson offering some encouragement,

"Let`s hope he`s right. I know that if he`s in need of a goal and he puts me on, then I`ll certainly be hoping and thinking that I could do what he`s said. It`s been a tough few months, seeing the lads running out one way to the pitches and me walking another way to the gym."

The end is nearly in sight. I`ve just started training again so, hopefully, in a few weeks I`ll be back and available for selection."

You can never have enough players to choose from is our motto!

personally i don't think he gives enough or plays enough to earn another contract but a leaving present of a title winning goal would go down well

i'd agree, i thought he'd retired long time ago!

Let him leave when his contract expires. He came when we didn't have Hernandez and Welbeck was still a young lad not ready for first team football. Since then when available he's been a good squad member but has been too injured to justify his place at the club. With Welbeck and Hernandez effectively replacing Berby and Owen there's no need, nor space, for either of them.
