How Long!

Our thirty-eight year-old war-horse, Ryan Giggs, recently signed a one year contract extension.

Giggs, who now has made 904 appearances for Manchester United, continues to produce the goods and in a recent interview the Welshman has given an indication of just what it means to keep on pulling on that famous red-shirt, commenting,

"It`s nice to have played 900 games for Manchester United - that`s special."

"But I don`t look too far into the future, I just try to enjoy the moment and do my best."

"If it`s to be 10 more games, so be it. If it`s to be 100 more games, then that would be great."

"At 38 I`m still living my dream. You can`t ask for much more."


Personally, I reckon Giggs will fall short of the 1000 mark but could reach the magical 950 mark!

A model athlete who has really looked after and preserved himself. To play at 38 is impressive at any level considering the effects it has on your fitness and pace but to keep on playing at the highest level is a footballing phenomonom. In delighted to be able to watch him play for another year I just pray he hangs up his boots at the right time rather than see himself cost us points like Neville did.
