Off Target Rooney!
Earlier this week, whilst reflecting on the 5-0 thrashing of Wolves, on their home patch, we pointed out that it was rare for United to score five and for Wayne Rooney not to get on the score-sheet.
Well it appears that although Rooney didn`t hit the net, one of his shots did do some damage.
In the pre-match warm-up, a shot from Rooney went wide and a Wolves youngster, nine year old Jamie Thomas, leant forward to try and catch the ball. Unfortunately for Jamie, the ball hit his arm and broke his wrist.
Jamie ignored the pain to watch the first half but then had to go for treatment. Wayne, totally unaware of what had happened, was informed and has graciously offered to write to Jamie and also send him a signed shirt.
Nice touch Wayne, far better than the offer Wolves have made to the young lad of a VIP day at Moulineux - that`s torture in our view!
