Fighting Spirit

United supporters, as we start to look towards this weekends` fixture at White Hart Lane; will be hoping that Wayne Rooney will have recovered from his recent throat infection to play a part.

Rooney has missed the last two games but remains an integral part of Sir Alex Ferguson`s plans to hang onto the Premier League title and see off the challenge of Manchester City.

Rooney, more than willing to take up most challenges, has given the media a few comments that infer United are not prepared to let City brush United aside and that the famous United fighting spirit is coming to the fore, commenting about a recent fixture that entertained the nation,

"Everyone watching the game would have seen that we`re not just going to lie down - we`ll be fighting until the very end."

"When you`re 3-0 down it would be easy to just play the rest of the game and accept defeat."

No prizes for guessing what game Rooney is referring to!

Aw bless. That throat infection that was SOOOOOO serious it kept Wooney out of England duty will undoubtedly have cleared up completely by the weekend, and he'll be back to screaming at the referee at WHL as if it never happened.

That throat infection could be a dose of thrush obtained from some old granny.
