Rooney to Miss Dutch Clash

Stuart Pearce, probably, didn`t want to hear the news that broke overnight.

Going into his first international as the England coach, albeit on a temporary basis, he`d have been hoping that Wayne Rooney would have been available for selection.

Sadly, Wayne has had to withdraw from the squad, for the clash with Holland, as he continues to recover from the throat infection that has seen him miss the fixtures against Ajax (h) and Norwich City (a).

Speaking about his striker condition, Sir Alex Ferguson commented,

"Wayne has not recovered from his throat infection but hopefully we`ll get him ready for Sunday when we have a big game at White Hart Lane."

Now that would be a bonus, as we prepare to keep our title hopes well and truly alive in North London next weekend!
