Tempting Modric!

Last summer we sat on the outside watching, as bystanders, as Chelsea attempted to wrestle the talented Luka Modric from the grasp of Spurs.

Back in those days when the temperature was a little more respectable, the bidding came to nothing.

Well now the inference is that Modric has, privately, expressed a degree of relief that he never made the move from White Hart Lane to Stamford Bridge.

Instead, he`s now, privately, indicating that if he does leave Spurs this summer, possibly on the back of the proposed exit of Harry Redknapp to the England position, then the only destination he`d consider would be Old Trafford.

Music to the ears of Sir Alex I`d imagine.

hate to admit it but I think this one has legs, I heard a few months ago that Modric wouldn't sign an improved £100'000 a week contract (even though there is 5 years on his current £40'000 one) was because Harry is leaving in the summer and Modric has been told he can follow for £40 mil... rumour is there is a clause in hi current contract that means that if the manager changes he can go for a lot cheaper and that is why he has turned down an extra 60 grand a week... While at Dinamo Zagreb he signed a 10 year contract so the club could demand top dollar for him and they would not stand in his way if a big club came in.... He was under the impression that he had the same deal with Dniel Levy when he signed the 6 year contract a while back and Levy went back on his word when Chelsea came in for him... since then Modric has played well for us and given 100% in games but is sill determined to leave.
Spurs2007
Well if he does go we certainly want more than the £40m Chavski offered, I would not accept anything less than £60m if Torres is worth £50m lol!!!!!!!! We have time on our side at present

Hope it don't happen, there's so many better options available at a cheaper price than what Tottenham will deman for Modric. You got a lot of bites while fishing though Red Boy.

Spurs boys are worried .

I think they're bored. Although you will have to pay through the nose as you usually do when dealing with us. Can you afford it is the question?

Great player, but will be overpriced, go for Götze, Gaitan, Lucas or Eriksson, all younger and all with huge potential. Funny though to see the spurs fan go crazy.. Come on guys he wanted to leave in the summer, what has changed, if it is not United, then it will probably be City or Chelski. He is a wonderfull player, and if he doesnt go to United, I hope you hang on to him.
