'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It was Hairdryer Time!

It looks like we were right in our match report assumption that harsh words were said, at half time, in the Amsterdam Arena.

Jonny Evans, enjoying an extended run in the side due to the injury sustained by Vidic, spilled the beans and also commented on the tie in general, remarking,

"There were some harsh words from the manager as we didn`t get to grips with things in the first half. They were the home team and play a similar way to Barcelona."

"They are very open and like to play it out from the back. I think we were a bit too open ourselves but we got a better shape and went from there."

"We`ll be looking to keep it tight at Old Trafford and stamp our authority on it a bit more."

With Ajax having to chase what looks like a lost cause, United should have plenty of space to exploit in the second leg.
