Fergie`s Views - Ajax (a)

Fergie`s Views - Ajax (a)

Focusing in on Sir Alex Ferguson last night, via the television coverage, I got the impression that although he`d often bemoaned the fact we`d crashed out of the Champions League, the ambition was there to ensure we do well in the Europa League.

In fact Sir Alex would probably dance with delight if he can add United`s name to the small band who have won each and every European trophy available.

After the game, addressing the media, Sir Alex gave his views on how he perceived events had gone in the Amsterdam Arena, commenting,

"The result was better than the performance."

"The first half was disappointing."

"It was difficult to get the rhythm and speed to the game."

"We didn`t reach any great heights. We improved in the second half, made some good opportunities and deserved to win."

"It`s a good result. You can`t complain too much when you win 2-0 away from home."

"Winning is always a good habit. We`re in a good spell now. We`re not taking anything for granted at Old Trafford."

I`m sure we won`t but it`d take a dramatic turn of events to see us eliminated don`t you think!
