United Have the Edge!

Manchester City may have got their noses in front with that 1-0 victor at Villa Park but Sir Alex Ferguson still believes we hold all the aces when it comes to taking another top-flight title.

This is what the gaffer had to say,

"Courage and determination are qualities that make the difference in a league packed with top-class players."

"But when push comes to shove, I believe that the character in our team gives us an excellent chance of defending the title."

"Manchester United`s never-say-die approach is woven into the fabric of the clubs history. I wonder at times exactly how long we can go on picking ourselves up."

"But it must be in the United genes because there is no sign of this invaluable quality fading."

I`d hope not, but I still reckon the title will be decided when we travel to the Eithad Stadium for a do-or-die fixture!

carry on believing the MYTH lads, city are 2points AND 9 goals better off now, and you lot have been saying this since October and still chasing us....is this the rantings of a man who is losing the plot and living in the past? it would seem so...
cityman51
myth? How many times do we have to up our game during the 2nd half of the season to disprove the idiots who can't see something so obvious? You keep believing it's a myth, whatever helps you sleep at night.

the facts dont back it up TF7, you lot win the same amount as you do in early part of the season, figures on Sky sports check them out,cos just suppose that it is true, and you win more in the latter stages than early part, so 18 matches before the 1st weekend in Jan, and you lot have won 14matches, drawn 3 lost2,City won 14 drawn3 lost 1, the team that wins the title is the team that Looses the least matches and for tha last 2 years tha thas been you lot not cos you won more, nor come good in the latter part of the season, cos the stats dont back your case up, same as Chelsea for the year before, the team that looses less than 5 matches all season wins the title, NOT come good or better from December to May.....prosecution rests, but you carry on believing the myth TF7, like the rest of the sheep....

You sit there talking of stats cityman then don't present any from previous season to back up your argument. Heck, even then stats will only ever tell half the story. As a club we've always performed far better during the 2nd stage of the season than the first. This season is the first in a very long time where we've had a strong start results-wise but even then our performances thus far have been unconvincing and inconsistent. It's no secret, nor myth, that during the business end of the season we step up our game rather than just getting the results. You continue to believe whatever helps you sleep at night though cityman ;)

No you haven't Famous. The points totals for the first and second half of virtually every season in the last 10 have shown you picking up more or less the same points at both stages. It is a total myth propagated by the brown-nosing media and gullible rags, but it simply ain't true. Averaged out, you are quiote simply NOT better in the second half of the season. Look it up.
