A Rooney Master-Class

Wayne Rooney gave a master-class yesterday.

With United looking down the barrel of the gun at a likely defeat, Rooney did more than most to drag United back into the game.

His foraging, collecting the ball from deep and all-round play, allied with two superb penalties ensured we got as hare of the points, a share that looked very unlikely at one stage.

After the game, Wayne spoke about the rescue of a point and how it could affect the title race, commenting to the media,

"We have shown that spirit so many times over the years and this point could win us the league. At 3-0 down, a lot of teams would find it easy to let their heads drop and accept defeat but we carried on working hard and, thankfully, got something out of the game. We really had to dig in."

"Of course its two points we lost, we understand that."

"But after being 3-0 down all the City players at home won`t have enjoyed watching the way we fought back and the spirit of the team."

"They know it will be a fight to the finish and we`ll be there at the end."


It`s looking like it could be the closest finish to a title race for a long time!

He done well but did go non-existant for spells of the game, personally thought if anyone should've got MOTM it should've been Mata. Another bitter blue I see.
