Amos Debut

Some things can work out strange!

There were we, in our pre-match preview, getting all worked up about who Sir Alex Ferguson would give the nod to between the sticks and circumstances contrived to provide an opportunity for somebody who, up until the day of the game, was even in the frame.

With Anders Lindegaard picking up an ankle injury and with David De Gea going down with an illness, Sir Alex called up young Ben Amos to, metaphorically, grab the green jersey.

Amos, as it turned out, had a quiet night with Stoke hardly troubling him, but, afterwards the youngster received some words of praise from the boss with Sir Alex remarking,

"Ben showed great potential. He never flapped at anything.

Could Ben be in the frame to start at Stamford Bridge, on Sunday, we`ll just have to wait and see!
