Smith Moves On!

Smith Moves On!

Many suggest that the injury Alan Smith suffered in blocking that shot at Anfield, was the beginning of his demise as a top flight player.

The suggestion being that Smith was never the same again and a subsequent move to Newcastle did nothing to resurrect a career that had achieved so much.

Well now we learn that Smith is to go on loan, from Newcastle, to the MK Dons and that the Buckinghamshire club will only be paying Smith £2,000 a week with Newcastle picking up the remainder of his rumoured £60,000 a week salary.

A nice chance for Smith to get back into the swing of things but a clear indication that football is in a financial mess do you think not?

Always liked the lad when he played for us - had a passion for the game, used to live near him when I was living in West Yorkshire, and he was always a very genial young man - always said hi to all the nieghbours...... Good look Smithy
