Defending De Gea!

One surprise yesterday was the inclusion of David De Gea at the expense of Anders Lindegaard.

The Dane had been given the nod for the last four games, since the home defeat to Blackburn, but the Spaniard was preferred yesterday.

After the defeat there was a train of thought that De Gea could have done better with the cross that saw Liverpool open the scoring through Agger, but Sir Alex Ferguson was having none of it, commenting afterwards,

"Our own players created a problem for the first goal.

"They didn`t give David enough room to deal with it."

Is Sir Alex right or was it a lack of physique that was De Gea`s undoing when surrounded by hulks like Carroll and Agger?

Hes not good enough and our defence is depleted enough without a rookie goalkeeper stressing evryone

Looks like he could do with either a spell on the sidelines or a loan somewhere else to get him out of the spotlight - because he certainly doesn't appear to be enjoying his job at the moment, and if he carries on as he is his confidence will be totally shot, and you've then lost most of your £19m fee. Still, mustn't grumble, De Gea does provide hours of entertainment for anyone that doesn't support your lot. ;)

Its his first season - ive noticed when his first touch is a damn good save, then he is outstanding for the rest of the match, but if he has a wobble early on hes awful for the rest of the match
