'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Master and His Apprentice!

As the shockwaves of going out of the FA Cup, to Liverpool, continue to reverberate, it`s time to focus back on the Premier League.

And, with that in mind, there`s no doubt that the first team will benefit enormously from the return of a fit-again Tom Cleverley.

With that in mind, and a return sometime in early February quite possible, Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken about pairing Paul Scholes and Tom at the heart of the United midfield, declaring,

"Cleverley will be desperate to play with Scholes and Paul is a player he could learn from, I`m sure. But it will be just great to get Tom back because he`s special."

"I saw signs of what he brings to us earlier in the season when he was in the team. He gave us something we`ve not had before in terms of his creative ability and linking with the front players, so it will be good to have him back."

"He`s doing a lot of running at the moment. He`s not near to the first team but he is doing plenty of running, which will help his fitness."

"When Tom`s back it will be a great boost - no doubt at all."

Hes a great player - probably why we didnt spend big on a midfielder in the summer, and also why weve not bought this transfer window, but with injuries it makes me wonder why we havnt even bought any cover...

Nite you are absolutely right, I wrote ealier in the season that we would not buy an AM because of Cleverly, SAF wants to test his ability in a Ubited shirt and rightly so, before he goes off and buys a quality AM. He has the rest of the season to show SAF he is the one - bar any injuries of course, and then United will reasses the situation in the summer. No point in buying if we already have whats needed, though we do not have any real cover, if Scholes retires.
