Eggs in One Basket

Eggs in One Basket

Was anyone else caught between the devil and the deep blue sea last night?

I mean who would we seriously want to win when the two teams involved are our noisy-neighbours and that other mercenary lot from Anfield?

In the end I was hoping they`d just hammer seven shades out of each other, such is my contempt for both camps.

But as it turns out our noisy-neighbours were dumped out of the Carling Cup by somebody they deemed not good enough to take part in their deluded march to glory.

So, that`s one consolation from an evening when the TV awards, on ITV, looked to be marginally more interesting.

The other being that City`s exit from the competition has left our noisy-neighbours with all their eggs in one basket (ignoring the Mickey Mouse competition our combined failures dumped us in).

Are we starting to feel the pressure lads?

They have spent millions of millions of pounds, over the past years, and only have the fa cup to show, regardless of what any of their deluded fans might say, this must be considered a major failure. They got thrown out of the fa cup by their biggest rival and dunped out of the Carlig cup by a poor Liverpool side. For 5hitty the PL, any club on the planet having spent that kinda of money would expect more. However I dont see them winning the title, they will surely bottle it as they have started to in all the important matches.

Eggs in one basket eh? PMSL! Nordkap, what was the Spurs game? Important by any chance? We lost cup games mate, important? perhaps but not the most important? That'd be the league games and we've won our last three of them.

If we win nothing at end of this season then its not the end of the world, but it will mean an overhaul in our playing staff - get rid of those not good enough to lace up their boots and put on the red of Utd, and money must be spent...
