In typical tabloid fashion, the contract mutterings we`ve heard about Danny Welbeck, have started some right old tittle-tattle.

One leading tabloid bursts straight through the sensibility barrier by inferring that Welbeck`s contract wrangle has alerted Jose Mourinho, at Real Madrid, and that the Spanish giants are watching the developments very closely.

The tabloid goes on to suggest that Real sent scouts to five United games in December and January, with Welbeck being the only player they had eyes for.

We`ll see!

Some players they might be able to pluck from us but Welbeck is United through and through and I can't see Madrid having the same effect on him as it has done some of our other players in the past. He's not a prima donna like Ronaldo and Beckham. I can understand why the want him though, he's definitely a striker Mourinho likes to use in his systems.

No offence guys, but as good a prospect as he might be, he's not good enough for Real madrid, not yet anyway. He's not really good enough for yoonited yet either - he might be one day if he continues his development, but he's only getting games because the Glazers have totally raped you.

I've been laughing at your club for years mate. :) Do you think Welbeck is the finished article then? I said he was good, but he's not a superstar - he possibly will go on to be one, but I'm sure all you reds would prefer not to have to rely on him as pretty much first choice wouldn't you?

Yeah sorry I didn't get a chance to elaborate. Anyway, I think by La Liga standards Welbeck is well and truly good enough and would do a better job for Madrid than what Adebayor done last season for them. Yeah the lad is still developing but he's already a very good striker and more than capable enough to hold his own in any Premier League squad.
