No Mugs At Old Trafford

No Mugs At Old Trafford

Sir Alex Ferguson has said Manchester United are looked at as milch cows?!

He also says that the Reds will not be taken for 'mugs' in the transfer market.

I'm sorry, did he say milch cows?!

Sir Alex, who has been linked with a big money move for Owen Hargreaves told United Review:

'I know this summer has been frustrating but there comes a point when you realise you can only take so much. This close season has driven the point home even more that people are looking at Manchester United like a milch cow. Perhaps it is the cavalier amounts of money Chelsea have been spending which has upped the ante because the asking prices these days have soared to ridiculously high levels.'

Adding: 'It is as if the thinking is that if Chelsea can afford such and such, then we can expect Manchester United to pay through the nose as well. But it has got to the point where you can only take so much and I want to make it clear that we are not going to be taken for mugs.'

He also says if prices remain inflated 'Maybe we have to become stronger in our belief in our own players and trust in the quality of those we are continuing, as always, to bring through. We do not expect to get players on the cheap but at the same time, we have to stick to our values and make a stand.'

Still say you can't sell a player like Ruud van Nistelrooy and not go out and spend big to replace him.

time will tell, could end up a great signing, but although I hate doing it, I do have to agree the fee was steep!

at least we fill our ground Rocky, will be interesting to see how long you can fill your new stadium. Not sure why the supporters of the biggest club in Prem and one of the biggest in the world could be seen as mugs?!?!

We always fill ours too. Carling cup and CL qualifer aside (and that may still sell out) our ground will be full. Don't listen to your gaffer, our waiting lists are so full thats its doubtful any game will even go on general sale, but if it does, there'll be more than enough takers. It'll be full, dont you worry. (and my first comments was a joke, lighten up)
