A Record for Scholes!

A Record for Scholes!

Netting the opening goal in our comfortable 3-0 win over Bolton, gave Paul Scholes a record.

Fresh from coming out of retirement, Scholes goal made him the oldest scorer of a goal by an Englishman who has played for Manchester United.

Taking stock of the situation, after the victory, Michael Carrick, another to get on the score-sheet, spoke about Scholes scoring on his first start in his second United career, commenting,

'It was fitting that he scored on his first start back. It was great to have him back because he's such a great player. He fitted right in and although he was blowing a bit after an hour it was great to have him in the side.'

It certainly was.
