'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Grasping at Straws?

You just knew it was going to be a point that would be debated long into the night the very moment Chris Foy raised the red card and sent Vincent Kompany on that long walk of solitude.

After the game, Roberto Mancini wasted no chance in pointing an accusing finger at our very own Wayne Rooney, commenting,

"It was not a red card. Rooney told him his decision. This type of tackle happened with Rio Ferdinand and other United defenders many times."

"The red card for Vinnie? No, it`s impossible. But I don`t want to talk about the referee because I want to stay on the bench for the next game."

Every person has his view!

Then again, Sir Alex Ferguson saw it in an entirely different light, remarking,

"The referee was right on that one. I have seen him do it before and he has got away with it before."

"If there had been contact with Nani then it would have been a bad one. He is lucky he didn`t make contact."

"The intention was there. It was a two-footed tackle off the ground - it was a red card."

Like I said, it`ll be a long debate!

You are right red boy, and as pointed out much earlier in the season, every club has decisions for and against, this card though looked valid. And from what I understand from the press this was long overdue, he has been getting away with these borderline red cards all season.

So OK, supposing Kompany's challenge was worthy of a red. What's this worth?

Why did Nani, the biggest cheat in the PL, play on if it was so bad? Why didn't Giggs who had the best view appeal until after the whistle was blown? Why does it take Foy at least 4 seconds after the challenge was made and the ball passed on to blow his whistle? That comment from Slur is uncalled for in regards Kompany having done this before, that is the reason he will always be despised and not respected no matter what he wins, the man typifies crass.

Slur says Kompany has been getting away with it so it must be true eh Nerdy? manure is like a Stalinist regime and the propaganda machine has been working all out today, as Slur knows that our title bid will take a big knock if Kompany is banned. Devious and underhanded behaviour from a supposed "Knight of the realm". But I'm sure sycophantic reds the world over will swallow his nonsense and repeat it ad nauseum.

Still no views from the red perspective on Giggs' foul on Aguero? Why you do surprise me.

I just noticed Nerdy's comment on what he understood from the press, no Nerdy not the press but Slur. No one else has said this, well no one that isn't connected to U*d anyway.
