That Second Half

That Second Half

At half time with the tie far from being delicately poised, I wasn`t the only United fan, I`d guess, who wanted to see our goal tally increase.

But it didn`t end up like that did it!

City scored early on and I guess I wasn`t the only one keen to hear Chris Foy blow that final whistle with City scrapping hard for an equaliser.

After the game, Sir Alex Ferguson gave his views on that second half performance, remarking to the media,

"We made them better than they were/"

"We were careless in the second half and we took our foot off the pedal."

"They waited for us to make mistakes and we made them."

"It made it into a score-line that it shouldn`t have been. We should have been home and dry."

Indeed we should and, this morning, we should have had revenge for that October drubbing, such was our first half dominance.

We made them better, we came out thinking that we had won the match already. Low intensity from our side, and some sloppy passing led to their goals. I cant help think that if we had wanted to we could have cranked up a couple of gears in the second half.

PMSL! That shows the difference between the two teams, we play with an extra man for 40 minutes and we humiliate you with 5 goals, you play with an extra man for 80 minutes and you score twice and hang on for dear life. PMSL!

Why did Mancini take off Silva then - one of your best ever players?
And we were sloppy 2nd half - we should have really puniched you lot.....

He didn't want Silva to have his legs broken by one of your thugs.

P.S. That Giggs tackle was a leg-breaker and deserving of a straight red. Funny, don't think we got squat for either of those blatant acts of thuggery. Yet we still battered you in the second half.

Niteworlok, Silva came off injured, I presume he picked up the knock when Rooney lunged at his ankles from behind just before ht.
