It`s Not What it Once Was!

It`s Not What it Once Was!

As Manchester prepares itself for the mother-of-all cup battles, Sir Alex Ferguson has come out with a few unusual comments.

Sir Alex, talking about the cup, has poured cold water on the competition by suggesting the FA Cup isn`t what it was, remarking,

"I don`t think the FA Cup has the same magic it had when I first came down to United. A lot of that is to do with scrapping the replays."

Okay it was exhausting but it created excitement and emphasised how important it was to get into the next round."

"The big attraction for a player is to get to Wembley once in their life in the FA Cup Final has gone."

"European football has definitely changed things, too."

In a way Sir Alex is right, although accepting that the books have to be balanced and playing the semi-finals at Wembley does contribute towards that, it does damage the final itself.

Doe anyone else have any views on the subject?
