The City Clash - A Few Early Thoughts!

The City Clash - A Few Early Thoughts!

It`s not been the best of preparation has it?

With the FA Cup 3rd round tie, this Sunday, against Manchester City fast approaching, our noisy-neighbours must be rubbing their hands in delight at the prospect of meeting a United side that has lost twice in seven days and conceded three goals on each occasion.

Now normally the FA Cup would, quite probably, be used to give the fringe members / youngsters at each club some much needed first team experience, but I doubt this will be the case this time around.

With City having the upper hand over us, in recent matches, with an FA Cup semi-final victory over us last season and a thrashing of us back in October (6-1), does anyone seriously think that either club would be prepared to concede ground this time around.

Several of the United squad have, in the aftermath of the thrashing in October and ahead of the forthcoming clash, mentioned how painful that defeat was and the need to redress the balance.

Therefore, expect both sides to be very strong and if you`re looking for some comfort after two defeats on the trot then try and recall the last time United lost three on the bounce!

A third defeat on the bounce is not in Sir Alex`s vocabulary!

Heaven help us!
