It`s off to St James Park tonight or whatever they choose to call it these days.
After the shock defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers, on New Years Eve, and Manchester City`s 3-0 win over Liverpool last night, anything other than a win up on Tyneside will be viewed as a failure.
Newcastle, after a bright start to the season, have tailed off in recent matches but Alan Pardew knows enough to infer that backed by 50,000 mad Geordies his side will present a threat tonight.
However, he`s also wise enough know that Sir Alex will recall all the big guns possible tonight to get our title challenge back on track and has commented to the media ahead of the game,
"I`m well informed they will have a few back for this game and I`m not surprised because Ales Ferguson knows it is a tough game coming to Newcastle."
"He knows that from history so will put out his best possible side."
"I know 100 per cent Rooney will play and I think Rio Ferdinand and Chris Smalling will play too so, suddenly, their side looks a lot more balanced."
"Ryan Giggs might be involved as ell because he sat in the stands on Saturday."
"United are on the back of a disappointing result. I fancy they will be as fired up for it as we are after getting beaten by Liverpool. It will be a tough game."
Rarely have we faced tow such important games on the bounce, a win at St James Park tonight is essential otherwise our noisy-neighbours will be making even more noise and then there is the small matter of an FA Cup 3rd round tie at their place this Sunday!
