Berbatov to Leverkusen - Part 2

Earlier this week and following on from our fine win over Wigan, we ran an article that inferred our hat-trick hero, Dimitar Berbatov, might be heading for the exit door.

With his contract situation still unresolved, Berbatov was linked with a return to Bayer Leverkusen. Today those rumours are gathering a bit of pace with Bayer admitting that contact has been made with regards to acquiring a player who was our top scorer last season with 21 goals but who has made only 2Premier League starts this season.

Talking about the ongoing situation, the Bayer CEO, Wolfgang Holzhauser, has remarked,

"I`d even say contact is friendly. But nothing is concrete."

Whilst Dimitar`s agent, Ivan Dobrinov, has commented,

"Bayer is still very dear to him. He has a good relationship with the leadership there."

We`ll keep an eye on this one as we feel it may run and run.
