Vidic Update

Having sustained that nasty knee injury, against Basel, it looks to be a long road back for Nemanja Vidic.

It`s looking as if the earliest we can expect to see him play again is August with the defender set to undergo his knee operation in the coming week.

Talking about his client, Nemanja`s agent - Silvano Martina, had this to say,

"Nemanja is feeling good and waiting to start his rehabilitation."

"The first forecasts said the injury could last for a year but I believe he will be ready to go in five or six months. Nemanja will be back next year - stronger and better."

"He tore ligaments, which is serious, but thanks to medical progress it is not right to talk about the end of his career."

"The doctors assure us the recovery will run smoothly and he will be back very quickly."

"There is no doubt he will be his old self again."

We sincerely hope so!

Shame this had to happen. In my mind he's by far the best in the world at CB. We never look like the same team without him, some of the older heads at the club are really going to have to step up in his absence.

I'm more concerned with poor Michael Carrick. How's his red face now? Not because of the vicious GBH he took from Conor Salmon, but the fact that he reacted as he did to it, and now the powers that be have seen sense to overturn the red card, why haven't they charged your cheating midfielder with being a wuss or simply trying to get a fellow pro sent off? Scumbag.
