Red Card Appeal Expected by Man Utd

Red Card Appeal Expected by Man Utd

The official site has announced:

'The Football Association have received the referee's report into the dismissals of Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes against FC Porto in the Amsterdam Tournament opener last Friday.

United have until Friday to appeal against disciplinary action after Rooney was reported for violent conduct and Scholes for serious foul play.'

If the FA follow through with the suspensions, United will lose the services of Scholes and Rooney for 3 matches which would include Charlton, Watford and Spurs.

Just what we need on top of the injuries that seem to be mounting. Hopefully the FA will see sense as the cards were picked up during a pre-season friendly when the refs are usually more lenient, at least give the manager the chance to substitute a player and also very rarely include the incidents in the refs match report.
