Youngsters Wanted?

Although we`ve already inferred that United are favourites to land Cheiok Tiote in the summer, there are also other midfield players that are being linked with a move to Old Trafford.

According to the gossip columns we`re after the Basel midfielder who played such a huge part in our Champions League elimination - Xherdan Shaqiri.

The player, still only twenty years of age, is being heralded as the new 'Lionel Messi`

Another youngster supposedly on the radar is Christian Eriken of Ajax. Erikson is a year younger at nineteen years of age

Which, if pushed, would you prefer?

Shaqiri is a talented youngster no doubt but he's nowhere near Messi standards. He plays wide left I believe and it's because of that I can't see any deal happening. We need players through the middle and we already possess a bundle of talent outwide. Eriksen is the sort of player we need in midfield. He's direct and will charge at the opponent through the middle, something we've only seen Jones do as of late. He's skillfull, a great dribbler with good vision and a pass to match. If there's any chance we can get him for a decent price we should be snatching at it. The only concerns regarding him is the transition from the Eredivisie to the Premier League, many have tried and failed to adjust before and also the fact that he has stated he wants to play for Barca but with their squad and number of midfielders is it fair to say that most likely won't be happening?

Famous, I doubt Eriksen will come to England, he has on more than on occasion expressed to Danish television, his desire to go to Spain. He is a very level headed young man, who comes from a small town in Denmark, and is very grounded. He has also stated that he will not leave Ajax to become another benchwarmer at a top club. I think he prefers Barca, but he knows what has happend to Affalay, so my guess is that he will go to Valencia, or another 2nd tier team from La Liga. However I do think though, that he would choose United, if he was to go England. He is not driven by greed, which rules City out, but sofar the indicators show that he will end up in Spain or maybe Italy, but you never know in football.

No I do doubt he will end up here but all the same if there is the slightest possibility we could get him and at a decent price we should try our utmost to make it happen because like you said you never know. My personaly preference still is Douglas Costa at the moment but I fear that move might've died off completely.
