'If It's Football, It's Vital'

In The Mix Come January!

We may only have been top for a couple of hours but our noisy-neighbours now know that they have serious rivals for the title.

In fact Sir Alex Ferguson has declared that he`d like nothing better for his 70th birthday than to top the table on New Years Day with Sir Alex remarking,

"If we`re up there on New Years Day, we`ll relish that."

"Hopefully by then we can be around the top of the league. The important thing is to be involved at the top in the second half of the season."

And on the performance at Loftus Road yesterday, Sir Alex added,

"It was a good performance but I thought we were wasteful with a lot of the chances."

"Of course that`s a concern because we should have had it won by the 30 minute mark. But their keeper made two great saves and we missed some other chances."

"If you`d asked me before the game if we would have taken a 2-0 win, of course we would. But on the evidence of today, we should have scored a lot more goals and that kept QPR in the game."

Looking at the festive programme, I`d say the only fixture that holds any degree of fear is the trip to Craven Cottage, the others should be, if there is such a thing, comfortable.

Now know? We've known all along and we'd never be so arrogant to suggest otherwise. You write some of the most idiotic things mate but I suppose if it gets the hits, that's what matters, right?
