Waiting for Cleverley

Tom Cleverley must be nearing fitness by now!

It was mentioned not too long ago that United were targeting the festive period for his return and if he`s still on schedule that`ll be good news for all United supporters.

Many pundits will insist that our poor run of form coincided with Cleverley`s initial absence and as he nears his own combat he`s given the media a few thoughts on the addition of Darren Fletcher to a growing injury list, remarking,

"I`m gutted for Fletch. It`s bad news for him, and its bad news for the team because he is a massive player for us."

"We know just how valuable he is, not just as a player, but as a person round about the training pitch and squad, so yeah, it`s a big loss for us."

"It`s a shame because we have a bit of a problem in central midfield, but we`ve got Giggsy, Ji, Carrick, Phil Jones is doing a job and Darren Gibson is till there, so that`s what squads are for."

They are, but it poses the question, if Ashley Young and Nani are first choice for the midfield wide positions, who do you believe are our two preferred central choices?

At CM if everyone is fit then the most balanced and effective CM pairing has to be Cleverley-Fletcher.
