'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Drought Over

Wayne Rooney will be a relieved man this morning.

Having not scored, in the Premier League, since September 18th (against Chelsea) , Wayne celebrated (just as we suspected he would in our match preview) his international ban being reduced from three games to two, with a brace against Wolves.

Talking about his striker afterwards, Sir Alex Ferguson had this to say,

"Sometimes strikers do go in spurts, and hopefully that is Wayne on one of those really good spurts of his."

I`ll echo those sentiments. If we are to catch, overhaul and keep ahead of City in this exciting title race then we`ll need Rooney hitting the back of the net on a regular basis.

Rooney has never been a consistent goalscorer and he's never been renowned for his goal scoring record. It's nice to see him scoring but it's only an added a bonus to his overall game.
