'If It's Football, It's Vital'

How Old?

The years must have flown by for Ryan Giggs

Many of us can remember a young Ryan first breaking into the United team in the nineties, today Ryan hits the milestone of being 38 years old.

Unfortunately, we suspect that Ryan`s birthday celebrations may be more than a little toned down after the tragic death of his friend Gary Speed.

Nevertheless, it is an astounding achievement that Giggs is still good enough to play top-class football and still more than able to control the game in his new found role of central midfield maestro.

Today there are calls for a statue of Ryan Giggs to be erected outside Old Trafford, now although I`m not one who favours such an approach to honour those who have served the club, I`d be interested to hear if you were for or against such a move.

Meanwhile, I`ll just remain content to wish Ryan a Happy 38th Birthday!
