'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Still Haunted

Being such a proud man, it`s understandable that Sir Alex Ferguson has principles!

So it doesn`t come as much of a surprise to hear, via the official club magazine, that the 6-1 defeat inflicted upon United by City, at Old Trafford, still haunts him.

But it appears it`s not the actual score-line that has him sitting bolt upright in the night but more the manner in which we capitulated late on, with Sir Alex remarking about whether it is getting any easier living with that result,

"No, not at all. We`ve looked at that game so many times and it was suicide."

"We were our own worst enemy. We made a basic error of trying to win the game when we were 3-0 down, with 10 men."

"It`s drummed into the players to never give in but in injury-time we kept trying to attack and that left us exposed."

"Had we kept things simple, and not lost our heads, it could have been respectable."

Respectable!

Can any loss to our noisy-neighbours be deemed respectable?

Well yeah, a 3-1 loss isn't too much of a big deal and if the game ended like that people wouldn't of saw too much into it other than a delightful win for City.
