Berbatov Chase Intensifies!

Talk about Dimitar Berbatov leaving Old Trafford has surfaced again.

This time the rumour is linking Berbatov with a move to the mega-rich Russian outfit, Anzhi Makhachkala.

It is being reported that the Russian side are looking at paying around 15 million for the Bulgarian and words accredited to his agent appear to show that the interest may well be mutual, with his agent remarking in the tabloid press,

"We would be interested when Anzhi make a concrete offer."

"We will sit down with Dimitar and ponder this. I don`t know if Dimitar is happy in Manchester."

"He plays, then he just sits on the bench."

With the Russians, reportedly, prepared to pay Dimitar a cool 7.5 million a year salary, it`s understandable that there is interest.

As to whether United would be prepared to sell, I reckon the emergence of Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck could swing the deal in the Russian`s favour.

Anzhi have far more money than sense and it wouldn't shock me if they did make such an offer for him. We'd be mad not to accept it, then again I thought the same when PSG offered 15 mil for him in the Summer. He's 30 years old meaning his seen his best years past him and he only has 6 months left on his contract, that should be more than enough of an incentive to sell him. That's without taking into consideration the fact that Hernandez, Welbeck and Rooney are all younger and better than him and have the potential to really shut him out of the first team for good. Macheda may be behind him but he has the potential to also be so much better than him. He use to offer something different to our squad but that's slowly diminishing and he only really offers experience to the side now.
