'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Mini Class of 1992?

The emergence of the younger element of our squad this season, and in particular those who were out on loan last season has only served to show the value of going out on loan to get that much valued regular first team experience.

The two players I`m going on about, Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley, have both shown that they can now sit easily with being labeled regular starters.

However, Cleverley has suffered from injury this season, courtesy of a wild lunge from Kevin Davies in our fixture at the Reebok Stadium a few weeks back.

Having just returned and resumed starting eleven duties the other of the duo, Danny Welbeck, has provided the media with some wonderful comments about just how good he believes Tom can be, remarking to the media,

"Tom can become a world-class player. Football is a simple game - it`s how hard you make it for yourself."

"He keeps it simple and it`s hard to do that in centre midfield but Tome does."

"Tom gets the ball, passes it, moves into space and he`s just always there as an extra option every time you`ve got the ball."

"He`s really good to play with; I enjoy playing with him so much and he`s got the awareness, the vision and the ability to pick out a pass and produce a final pass."

"And he`s just going to carry on improving. You can see that every single day in training."

"We`re really good friends off the field. We`ve grown up through the academy, the same coaches taught us the same things so we`re on the same wavelength and know each other`s games almost inside out."

Anyone else have the suspicion that we may have another class of 1992, albeit a smaller version, developing here?
