Scholes and Rooney - The Reds!

Manchester United have to wait to see if Rooney and Scholes will get suspensions following they were both red carded against FC Porto.

Rooney scored a gabulous goal in our 3-1 win against FC Porto and then managed to see red again and got sent off in what looked like a fairly harsh decision. Rooney led with his arm but a yellow would have sufficed.

Sir Alex told Sky Sports News: 'I've seen the incident with Wayne and it was innocuous. You would think common sense and fairness would prevail. It's a ridiculous decision, but we will have to wait and see what happens.'

Sir Al also said their players were diving and making a meal of things.

However, he wasn't able to defend the dismissal of Paul Scholes for his lunge. You'd think he would learn not to do that by now surely? This is a Johnny come lately, he is a top quality, world class midfielder.

Sir Alex admitted 'Paul should know better. A straight red card was maybe a bit harsh, but nonetheless it was a tackle from behind, so you can't argue with it.'

Rooney was mystified as to why he was shown a red, he said: "I thought the ref was going to give a free kick for the foul on me because of the defender backing in. I can't believe he has sent me off for that."
