Defensive Worries?

With Sir Alex Ferguson having already inferred that Rio Ferdinand`s best days are behind him, could we be about to witness a major defensive change at Old Trafford.

The reason I ask is that we suspect Rio may be move don this summer and now we hear that one news source is fairly certain that his defensive partner, Nemanja Vidic, is wanted by Real Madrid.

Although Manchester united remains one of the most famous names in world football, we`ve already found out to our cost, with Cristiano Ronaldo, that the lure of the Bernabou can be something that cannot be ignored.

So although the same news source infers that Sir Alex Ferguson will resist and overtures from the Spanish giants, don`t be too shocked if the Serbian does leave us this summer.

Guess it could come down to either Kompany or Vidic. Vidic is by far and awaythe better defender so will be more than happy if he goes and Kompany stays. As for F********, where would he go, back to Leeds?

I don't think either Ferdinand or Vidic will be leaving anytime soon. We lack defensive options and experience at the back as it is so that instantly rules out Ferdinand. Whilst he might not don the first team for much longer I think Ferdinand is willing to accept a squad role and he can pass on some invaluable advice to Jones and Smalling. Vidic has iterated and reiterated his happiness at United, he signed a new contract not too long ago when the Madrid interest first surfaced and I can't imagine anything has changed with him.
