United - Swap?

United - Swap?

One interesting rumour doing the rounds in the red-top press this morning surrounds a possible swap deal involving Dimitar Berbatov.

The rumour infers that United are looking to swap the Bulgarian for the Schalke 04 striker, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

With Berbatov no longer first choice at united and with his contract expiring next summer, it appears to be a novel way to reap some sort of reward from losing the player even more so when the Schalke 04 general manager, a gentleman by the name of Horst Heldt expresses an interest in such a deal being orchestrated by commenting,

"Swapping Huntelaar for Berbatov is a very interesting proposal. I`d just need to sleep for a night on the idea."

"It is entirely natural for a player in that sort of top form Huntelaar is showing to interest other clubs."

Now whether it actually comes off is something we can only wait and ponder over

Don't see the point really. Huntelaar whilst being a good striker isn't better than Berbatov and like Berby he will struggle to get into the first team.

Feel a bit sorry for berbatov, seeing as he's had his career more or less ruined by Slur Alex. £30m cash down the plug hole. Jeeze, the Glazers could have bought another shopping mall for that money!

I also do feel sorry for him. It's not solely Fergie's fault, Berby must take some of the blame, since joining his body attitude has been far from convincing and it has shown through his displays. We finally did start seeing Berby at his best last season when he carried Rooney up until January and it was unfair of Fergie to bench him for pretty much the rest of the season and exclude from the Champions League final squad. We should've let him move to PSG in the summer and recouped 15 or so million for him but we decided to keep him despite knowing he wasn't going to get into the squad ahead of Welbeck, Hernandez or Rooney.

Perhaps instead of Shrek in midfield, you should try berbatov there - he's the nearest thing to a playmaker you've got at the moment.

That's not a bad idea 5th. Does anyone on here remember the desperation of S** A*** F******* to sign Berbaflop at the 11th hour on transfer deadline day? Would he do the same again if he knew then what he knows now? Safe to say that DB's career has gone backwards under his guidence.
