Like a Duck to Water.

Like a Duck to Water.

Playing in the middle of the park yesterday, as opposed to leading the attack, Wayne Rooney was as influential as ever.

Displaying a great range of passing and keeping United going forward on the front foot, Wayne certainly picked up a glowing accolade from Sir Alex Ferguson with the gaffer remarking after the event,

"Wayne was fantastic. His awareness of players around him and choice of passing were very good. He was our best player."

"It`s short term at the moment. We are trying to organize our midfield because of injuries. But I would be confident of playing him there again."

And as for the player himself, we get the impression he kind of enjoyed the experience, commenting after the event,

"I am a good enough footballer to play anywhere on the pitch and that is not just being big-headed."

"It`s no problem playing in central midfield. I played there a lot when I was younger. If the manager asks me, I will do it."

Personally, I still prefer Wayne to be played up front, how about you?
