Otelul Galati - A Must Win Game!

Otelul Galati - A Must Win Game!

We`re entering the back-straight when it comes to the group stages of the Champions League.

A victory over the Romanian side, Otelul Galati, tomorrow night should leave us chasing top spot with Benfica for the group winners.

Talking about the outcome of the group, ahead of the fixture tomorrow night, Sir Alex Ferguson has remarked to the media,

"We have to win, we`re at home and I expect us to win. If we do that, it`s in our hands when we play Benfica at home."

"I expect Benfica to beat Basel as they`re in a bit of disarray with Thorsten Fink going to Hamburg."

"We`ll hopefully win our game and, when we play Benfica at home, it`ll be the decider."

Although some would say that the only advantage of topping your group is the fact you play the second leg of the knockout stage at home!

I don't think coming top of the group should be priority, just qualify. Playing at home is a massive advantage yes but only if you're not pretty much knocked out before you even get to play at home. The competition in the knock-out stages is going to be stiff.
