'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Smalling Bucks the Trend?

Although Sir Alex Ferguson has hinted that he`d not be too pleased if some of his stars opted to play in the GB Olympic team, straight on the back of the Euro 2102., one of his youngsters seems keen to do just that.

Chris Smalling, speaking about furthering his career on the international stage after a great start to his United career, has remarked in the media,

"I`d love to go to Euro 2012 and there is the Olympics too."

"A lot of the lads who went to the Under-21 Championships last year will be able to play in it."

"Whether it is the Euro`s, Olympics or both, you would like to be involved because these opportunities do not come around too often."

They probably don`t but then again I`m not sure Sir Alex sees it that way!

Wouldn't worry too much about it Fergie if I know England well enough I can guarentee you they won't get too far and he'll be back before you know it.
