Ronaldo - Going or Going Nowwhere?

A report by Paul Brown in the Daily Star claims that Manchester United and Portugal international winger Cristiano Ronaldo might be offered an 'escape route' from the Premiership as Spanish club Valencia look to bid £12million.

The 21-year-old is said to be worried at the reception he will get in England following the World Cup incident involving fellow United player Wayne Rooney when he rushed to the referee to push the claim for Rooney to be sent off.

Ronaldo has already upset the Reds by saying he would love to play for Real Madrid.

However according to Utd's assistant manager Carlos Queiroz, Ronaldo is going nowhere.

He told Portuguese radio station RDP: 'Cristiano Ronaldo is popular with our club and its fans. The club is used to our players being the target of some dispute when they face other big clubs in England. The circumstances that surrounded the player after the tournament were delicate but the reality of a club is not the reality of a national squad.'

Adding: 'There are two different worlds. There is the real world and there is the world of media speculation.'
