'If It's Football, It's Vital'

3rd Time Not Lucky For Man Utd

It appears that third time is not lucky for Manchester United after seeing their latest bid for West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak rejected.

The 24-year-old Polish international is wanted as cover for Edwin van der Sar but the Baggies aren't playing ball.

It is thought that Albion chairman Jeremy Peace is holding out for a loan move including 19-year-old striker Giuseppe Rossi.

Peace said: 'At this moment in time, selling Tomasz to United is not a viable option. It would severely weaken our squad at a time when we are trying to strengthen it for a promotion push. If we sold Tomasz to United, without Rossi coming in return, it would potentially cause us more problems without solving any - despite the receipt of cash.'

Adding the decision 'will come as a disappointment to Tomasz who has indicated to us he would like to join United. But it is the board's job to do what is best for this football club and we will not sell Tomasz unless the deal suits us.'

He also says they don't need to sell any players because of the way they have 'structured' the club.
