'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Welcome to Aldershot

After the nightmare of Sunday, we`re back in action tonight as we hope to flush that dreadful result out of our system when we travel to Aldershot to take on the Hampshire side in the Carling Cup.

Following on from that rout on Sunday there`s every likelihood that the nation are praying that David can humble Goliath tonight and that Aldershot, managed by the ex-Wimbledon striker, Dean Holdsworth, can pull off a cup shock.

It`s one of those nights where, going to a small ground, you have to expect something of a culture shock. Aldershot, fresh from a 5-2 thumping of Dagenham and Redbridge, last Saturday, will fancy their chances of pulling off a shock.

Danny Hylton, who scored the goal that gave Aldershot this plum home tie against the biggest name in English football, has spoken to the tabloid press about the sparse conditions that await us whilst also giving the low down on what we can expect at the Recreation Ground, remarking,

"When they get into that changing room they`re not going to be able to move. They take turns to get changed."

"All stuff like that is going to benefit us, so hopefully it puts them off a bit and we can win the game."

"We`ve just got to go into it and they might not fancy it. Coming here on a Tuesday night, it`s going to be cold and the stadiums smaller than what they`re used to."

"As long as we`re up for it, and we give ourselves the best chance there`s no reason we can`t win this game."

"Everyone will be running around like a madman on the pitch I can assure you."

"We`ll be closing them down, not giving them a minute to play. If everyone sticks to their job we can win."

Please God no, I need cheering up big-time after Sunday!
